Our Mission

We rescue the seniors, the sick, and the overlooked — the fospice and fixer uppers — and surround them with medical care, foster homes, and a community that refuses to give up on them.

How Rosalie Started Everything

Rosalie and Friends grew out of years of quietly doing the hard thing: taking in the sick, the injured, and the dogs no one else would — nursing them back to health one at a time, and finding them homes.

In late 2022, the long-respected nonprofit Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter dissolved and entrusted its work to Rosalie and Friends. We carry those programs forward today — sponsoring heartworm treatment for animals adopted through the shelter, and running a fospice program that moves senior pets out of the shelter and into loving homes through the end of their lives.

Our motto is “fospice and fixer uppers” — but that has never stopped us from helping any dog that crosses our path.
